Cleaning of Vacuum Cleaner



1.0           Purpose

1.1          To describe a cleaning procedure for proper cleaning of Vacuum cleaner to maintain the machine in proper and in efficient working order .

 

2.0           Scope

2.1         This Sop is applicable for Vacuum cleaner present in manufacturing area of "NAME"  Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

 

3.0           Responsibility

3.1            Cleaners and Operators are responsible for normal operation. He/ She inform the supervisor about any deviation from normal operation.

3.2            Production Officer and Quality Assurance Officer should ensure that the procedure is implemented properly.

 

4.0           Abbreviations and Definitions

4.1            Vacuum Cleaner: An electrical appliance that cleans by suction.

 

5.0           Materials and Equipment

5.1            Vacuum cleaner.

5.2            Portable water

5.3            Dry clean Lint free duster.

5.4            Compressed Air

5.5            Detergent Solution: 0.4% (w/v) Sodium Lauryl Sulphate solution ;  4 gm Sodium lauryl Sulphate  is  dissolved in 1.0 liter of portable / tap water to prepare detergent solution.

 

6.0           Precaution / Health and Safety Considerations

6.1            Use mask and goggle's during cleaning operation.

 

7.0           Procedure

7.1           Unplug the power cord of vacuum cleaner and remove residual powder from the vacuum cleaner   after operation.

7.2           Wet rest of the powder adhered with the Vacuum cleaner specially powder adhered with wheel of Vacuum cleaner a lint free duster soaked in portable water.

7.3           Dismantle dust collecting bowl, filter and duct of vacuum cleaner.

7.4           Drain the dust collected bowl.

7.5           Shake the filter to remove dust adhered on it.

7.6           Warp a dry cleaned cloth around a stick to remove dust from different junction of inner part of the machine.

7.7           Wash the bowl, filter and duct properly with portable water and detergent solution (if required).

7.8           Apply compressed air to dry filter bowl and duct.

7.9           Mop the outer surface of vacuum cleaner and duct by a lint free duster soaked in portable water followed by 70% IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol).

7.10         Allow the room for natural drying.

7.11         Machine operator / worker will request Production Officer and QA Officer for checking visual          inspection.

7.12         At first Production Officer will check the Vacuum Cleaner then QA Officer will check the     Vacuum Cleaner. If it found satisfactory result, then he / she will issue “Cleaned”  label and  affix “Cleaned” label on vacuum cleaner.
