Operation and Cleaning of Super Folding Machine

1.0         Purpose

1.1           To provide standard guidelines for handling / executing the operating of Super Folding Machine.


2.0         Scope

2.1         This procedure is applicable for operation of Super Folding Machine at “NAME” Pharmaceuticals Ltd.

 

3.0      Responsibility

3.1.       Only concern operator is responsible for normal operation. He/ She inform the supervisor about any deviation from normal operation. He also maintains logbook. 

3.2.       Sr. Officer- Production/Officer- Production is responsible for monitoring day to day activity. 

3.3        Production and Quality Assurance Officer shall ensure that the procedure is implemented                   properly.

6.0      Precaution / Health and Safety Considerations 

6.1          Have to plan the work carefully before starting the operation, keep the floor clean near machine.

6.2          During the maintenance, Servicing and cleaning always press emergency stop.

6.3          Never try to clean while the machine is in running.

 

  

7.0       Procedure

7.1       General instructions 

7.1.1     Clean the machine carefully.

7.1.2     The safety devices should not be removed in any operation case.

            Before opening electrical control panel always ensure the main plug is disconnected.

7.1.3     Avoid insertion of hands in this area while drive of the machine is on.

7.1.4     During the machine setting operation, operator is directly exposed to the rotating folding rollers.

7.1.5     Clean connection & fittings at beginning of machine running.

7.1.6     Check the protective facilities after every day production work.

7.1.7     Set the folding plate or pocket as your production schedule.

7.1.8     Set the feed papers to the machine one by one.

7.1.8     Ensure smooth feeding of paper of various types and thicknesses

 

 

7.2       Safe equipment & other factors need to consider

7.2.1     Equipment must be made safe before operating starts.

7.2.2     Set up position people at key points if they are needed to keep other people out of place.

7.2.3     Don’t just focus on the safety of Machine operating – Take the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of others who may be affected by their work.

7.2.4     The folder paper can be creased to help in right angle folding.

7.2.5     Set the creasing line in used as a guideline.

7.2.6     Gap between the rollers is adjusted according to the paper thickness. Folding pockets are used to set the fold length. Gap setting roller is a fixed roller.

7.2.7     To ensure vibration free operation of machine.

7.2.8     Level the machine by adjusting four pads properly.

 

7.3       Other factors need to consider

 

7.3.1     After locking the folding pocket ensure the freeness of machine by rotating the machine with hand wheel to ensure that the folding tray not touching the rubber roller.

7.3.2     So that avoid the damage to the rubber roller.

7.3.3     Move stacker wheels run on belt only.

7.3.4     Always ensure stacker wheels run on belt only.

7.3.5     Rotate the swivelling bar to adjust the gap. Another system to gap setting is when you rotate the knob anti clockwise, gap reduces and when you rotate is a clock wise gap increase.

7.3.6     Set the programming panel.

7.3.7     After all setting have been done, put the machine in “RUN” mode

 

7.4       Procedure

7.4.1     Check the zero-gap setting.

7.4.2     Check the paper depositions on the rubber rollers, feeder rollers resulting in poor quality folding.

7.4.3     Clean the roller regularly.

7.4.4     As the machine takes speed, start feeding the paper by “FEED ON” switch.

7.4.5     For stopping the machine first stop the Feed and put the drive “OFF”. Then Off the main isolator Switch.

7.4.6     Every time insert a folding pocket or deflector ensure free running of machine by turning hand  wheel.                    

7.4.7     Auto mode use for multiple batches. Single mode use for single batch.

7.4.8     Reset for current count, Batch Count and total count.

  7.4.9   Clean the machine after operation.

7.4.10   Cover the machine to protect the dust.
